Blog Roll
Jun 26, 2006 My dig on the blog?
Well, for now I think this blog should be mainly informative on web development issues, but also other, more personal subjects could come up here. So maybe I should tell a little more about myself here;

My name is Vincent Bakker, and I was born in Maastricht, the Netherlands at July 17 1964.
I studied electronics and computer science and started out making a living as a musician and sound engineer. I also did some programming back then in Pascal and Basic for several projects.

After my first kid was born I quit the "on the road" lifestyle, and started my web development company "Miranet Webdesign" and took a "decent job" at Vodafone to bridge the gaps. Eventually my main focus shifted from web development to my career at Vodafone. I went there from intra net development to CRM software management and project management, and in the end was asked to take care of the implementation and management of a very large fraud management system. Those were the days that working for E-companies was an exciting thing!

In 2001 however I decided to focus my attentions again fully to web development and expanding Miranet Webdesign to what it is today.
As it turned out, this was a very good decision for me personally, and I still enjoy the creative processes that come with development and coding on a daily basis.

In the past few years I have been instigating and working on some very interesting projects, which enabled me to further my personal as well as my coding skills in a significant way.

Along with those professional experiences me and my family where still able to maintain a rich private life, with ups, and some tragic downs involving the subsequent loss of 3 deeply loved family members in the last 2 years.

For my short term personal development I am currently working on becoming ZEND certification as a PHP professional, and of course I am also working on projects for clients.
